I cannot believe we are nearing the end of February! This winter has gone by so fast.

Last year the winter blues hit hard! I found myself leaving Costco with a 8 foot tall majesty palm on a March afternoon. Once home, we decided to place the palm tree in the corner of our bedroom where it receives both north and west indirect sunlight. Adding a palm tree to this space gave the room an instant face lift! I placed the palm in a large terracotta pot to help with moisture regulation. I water it once a week and fertilizer it with a liquid organic fertilizer every few months. Almost a year later it is thriving!

I have become slightly obsessed with palm trees since! This past summer we had another palm tree on our back porch all summer long. I was able to divide the clumps and bring two more palm trees inside. I love how palm trees add character and a sense of calm throughout our home.

If you have been reading The Skunk and Squirrel for some time now you know two things, 1. I love shoes, 2. I love Sarah Flint shoes and scarves. Today I would love to share my review of my favorite Sarah Flint shoe styles.

Natalie: My Natalie flats were my first pair of Sarah Flint shoes 5 years ago and one of Sarah's first styles. These are part of my weekly work shoe rotation. Not only do they work well for work, but also casual outfits with jeans. The Natalie's come in a wide range of colors and are a very versatile shoe. I currently own these in Saddle Vachetta. I am convinced the Natalie looks good on anyone! The Natalie flat does involve some breaking in from my experience.

Perfect Emma: The Perfect Emma pumps were my next addition to Sarah Flint collection. Along with my Natalie flats, the Perfect Emma pumps are also in my weekly work rotation. In my opinion the Perfect Emma pumps are the perfect work shoe. The shoes have a 2 inch heel with a pointed v toe that looks beautiful with pants and dresses.

Rosie: The Rosie is a refined take on the classic loafer. I have the navy blue suede which works great with work outfits! I find that this style runs small, so I would size up half a size!

Gudel: I purchased the Gudel in black to wear a work shoe as I often wear black pants. I love the detailing on the Gudel flat as it adds some interest to my outfits! The Gudel is stiff at first and does need some breaking in.

Sacchetto: The Sacchetto is my most recent pair and one of my most comfortable! I purchased the espresso suede as I wanted to add a pair of brown flats to my shoe collection. These flats fit true to size and are comfortable right out of the box!

Perfect Block Sandal: These sandals really are perfect! We had many weddings and events to attend last summer and I wanted pair of heeled sandals that I could wear to all of my summer events and beyond. These sandals were exactly what I needed! I purchased these in the 60mm in the sand calf color way. I wore them to about 8 events. What makes these sandals so great is they have a built in arch support like many of the Sarah Flint styles. I was able to walk, stand and dance throughout all of the events with no foot pain! The Perfect Block Sandals also wear very well. They still look brand new after lots of wear and tear this past summer. These sandals run true to size.

Mirjana: I purchased the Amalfi Blue Vachetta color way last year on sale prior to our Hawaii Honeymoon. These sandals are pricey in my opinion for a flat leather sandal which is why I will only purchase them on major sale. I do love the elevated look of the Mirjana. They are surprisingly comfortable. They look beautiful with any summer outfit and work well for walking on sand.

Perfect Stretch Boot: This past Christmas I gifted myself the Perfect Stretch Boot in black suede. Sarah Flint had an amazing Black Friday sale otherwise I would probably not have purchased these beautiful boots at their price point. They really are perfect! Like the Perfect Block Sandal they have a built in arch support. This makes this boot incredibly comfortable to walk and stand in which is much needed for my career as I spend a lot of time standing! I love the sleek, modern look of these boots. They look great with styled with jeans and dresses.

Many years ago I came across some beautiful framed silk scarves on Pinterest. I knew I wanted to add a framed silk scarf to my home one day. Awhile back when Sarah Flint came out with the hidden garden scarf I knew it would be perfect to frame for home decor! Blue, white and floral had Rachel written all over it.

I had my 45 cm scarf framed at Framebridge in a gold frame. Framebridge has many different frame and mat options. There really is something for everyone! When framing a scarf or any fabric item, Framebridge will send you packaging to send it to them. Once it arrives to them they iron if needed and mount it in the frame. I love how it turned out and is a unique take on traditional art. Local frame shops and other online retailers also can frame silk scarves.

Sarah Flint of course has many beautiful silk scarf options to wear or frame. You can use my code here SARAHFLINT-CCRACHEL3 to save on a Sarah Flint scarf. Really any silk or silk like scarf with a beautiful pattern can be framed! Vintage Hermes scarves or family heirloom scarves look beautiful framed as well.
