Recently we decided to try to make crab legs at home for the first time. We had no idea how easy they are to make at home! Jake and I had so much fun making them that I forgot to take photos of the process. We first filled a large pot with water and brought it to a boil. We then put the crab legs in the pot and boiled them for about 6 minutes. The various resources that we read said anywhere from 5-7 minutes. I picked up king crab legs from Costco since they had the best price in our area. I learned that crab legs come pre-cooked so making them at home is really just about heating them up.

We served the crab legs with fresh parsley, lemon wedges and melted butter. We had fun with the butter and made a couple flavors for dipping and separated them into small dished. The first was just plain melted butter, we also made a fresh garlic butter and a butter with Old Bay seasoning. I have heard people rave about Old Bay for seafood before and it lives up to the hype!

This will be a special dish that we will make again in the future and cannot wait!

It officially feels like spring here in Minnesota! The snow has been gone for many weeks now (lets hope it stays that way!) and the weather has been nice during the day. My tulip patch is growing nicely. I cannot wait for a sea of tulip blooms in a few short weeks. My seedlings are growing nicely under grow lights indoors. With the spring weather comes difficulty of dressing since in Minnesota it can be super cold and really warm in one day! Today I want to share a great transition outfit for early spring. I think white jeans can make any outfit feel like a warm weather outfit, but still provide warmth. A scarf can provide warm and interest and can easily be removed when it gets too warm.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!

Saint Patrick’s Day has always been a celebrated holiday in my family coming from an Irish family. My grandma was 100% Irish! I tend to take after her looks with my fair skin and hair color.

Part of our Saint Patrick’s Day celebration is wearing green! Green is one of my favorite colors, but wearing it on Saint Patrick’s Day is even more special. Jake bought me this beautiful Irish Fair Isle sweater as a Valentine’s gift. I absolutely love it! It is so Rachel and I will wear it beyond Saint Patrick’s Day. I paired my Irish Fair Isle sweater with a green coat and my beautiful Sarah Flint Natalie flats. If you have not tried a pair of Sarah Flint shoes yet you are missing out! Do you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? If so how do you celebrate?
