Every year a grow a variety of flowers for cutting to use in bouquets. I love making bouquets to brighten up my home and to gift to family and friends. I purchase my seeds from Floret Flower each year. Floret has the most amazing selection of seeds and great resources on everything flower! Now on to the fun part- how to make a bouquet!

You will need:

-A flower snips or pruner to cut your flowers

-Rubber band or twine to tie your bouquet (if giving as gift or selling)

-A vase to display your bouquet in

-Flower food (my favorite here)

-Focal flowers (zinnias, dahlia, cosmos, lilies, etc.)

-Fillers (bachelor’s button, snapdragons, grasses, feverfew, lace flower, mignonette, silene, etc.)

-Greenery (scented geranium, bells of Ireland, basil etc.)

To make a beautiful market bouquet you will need three categories of flowers: focal flowers, fillers and greenery. The rest is up to you! When I create a bouquet, I use about 2/5 focal flowers, 2/5 fillers and 1/5 greenery. For my fillers I add several different kinds to give my bouquet beautiful texture. Bouquets are so fun to make because you can pick a color theme and customize it to your hearts desire, the options are endless.

Once you have picked out your flowers I start by picking up one of my focal flowers, then adding filler and greenery. I repeat this process until I have used all of my flowers and have achieved a look that I like. I then tie my bouquet up if I am selling it or giving it as a gift.

If I am arranging it for myself to place in a vase, I place all of my focal flowers first, followed by fillers then greenery.

In my opinion, every woman should have a white eyelet piece in her closet whether it be a white eyelet top or dress. Today I am sharing my favorite eyelet dress. It is a classic piece that can be dressed up or down. I love the belt- it can be worn tied, in a bow or the dress can be worn without the belt. I paired this dress with a pair of nude sandals. These sandals are incredibly comfortable and walkable for their height. Check out my previous post here to see my favorite white eyelet top.
