Philadelphia Weekend Trip

We were able to travel to Philadelphia a few weeks back for my work conference. This was the first time that both Jake and I have been able to travel out of the state since the start of COVID. It was so nice to get back to traveling, even if it was work related!

We stayed at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown which was super close to the convention center were my conference was located. This hotel is huge and was well kept! We were able to fit a little sightseeing in between conference sessions. We decided since we were short on time we would book a car service for 1 hour and have the driver show us the highlights of Philadelphia during that time. We also used the same driver for transfer to and from the airport. If you are ever in need of transportation in Philadelphia, Sunny is amazing! We had so much fun! Sunny first brought us to the Philadelphia Museum of Art and then to see the Rocky Statue. We then went to the Four Seasons Hotel. We were hoping that we could go up to the top floor to view the entire city, but they were at max capacity. After that we went to the Philadelphia Courthouse then to the Old City area where the Liberty Bell is located and many other historical figures and museums. We were able to get out and walk around for 15 to 20 minutes at each location. This was such a fun way to explore a new city in a short amount of time! I will be using this trick in the future.

For dining we had so much fun exploring the Reading Terminal Market each day. This is one of the United States largest indoor public markets. I also love that it is located in a historic building. Anyway, this place is huge and has so many vendors! They have pretty much everything you could ever want to eat all under one roof. Each day we went we tried something different. One thing to note is that they do close at 6:00 pm each day, so if you are going for dinner, you do need to go early.

We are already looking forward to our next trip, whenever that will be!
