The new year is here which means it is now time to order seeds for this growing season. When it comes to ordering flower seeds that I plant each year, I typically order from just two companies: Floret Flowers and Johnny Seeds. I grow traditional market cutting flowers and I also like to grow more unique varieties, both companies offer what I am looking for and have quality products. Other than Floret and Johnny Seeds I sometimes order from small growers, or pick up seeds from my local nursery. I am very excited about some seeds that I will be receiving from Dawn Creek Farm this year! Dawn Creek Farm is currently breeding beautiful shades of blush and pastel zinnias. Zinnias are one of my favorite cutting flowers of bouquets to grow and I cannot wait to get my hands on these seeds!

I always suggest to order early! Speciality seeds sell out very fast. Floret Flowers had the first part of their sale this past week and most seeds sold out. I ordered the minute the sale opened and was able to snag everything on my wishlist. But fear not, they will be restocking this year! Sign up for email notifications to learn when seeds are back in stock, because they will go fast again.

Johnny Seeds typically have their seeds available for most of the year, but popular varieties will sell out first, so again shop early.

If your local nursery has a vast selection of seeds, I suggest finding out when they are put out for the year and shop early for best selection. Most nursery will put their seed selection out anything between January through April.

Here is a peek at some of the flowers that I will be growing this year!
